Kawartha Conservation’s 33rd Annual General Meeting to feature presentations and recognition awards
(January 3, 2012) Kawartha Conservation is inviting the community to its 33rd Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, January 11 at Oliver’s Nest Golf Club from 3 to 5 p.m.
The meeting will feature diverse presentations and new recognition awards. Geoff Coulson, Warning Preparedness Meteorologist at Environment Canada, will present on severe weather, locally and across Ontario. MPP Laurie Scott, Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock, will provide perspectives from Queens Park. And, Dawn Bronson, Field Unit Superintendent of Trent-Severn Waterway, Parks Canada, will talk about the current state of the Trent-Severn Waterway and its management.
In addition, Kawartha Conservation will present the 2012 Environmental Recognition Awards, to recognize outstanding people and groups within the region who have demonstrated watershed excellence. These include the Individual Conservationist Award, the Community Conservationist Award, and the Partner Award.
