CANWET Nutrient Model

Funded through the province, this pilot project is a partnership between Kawartha Conservation, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority and Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (lead agency). Over the past two years a computer model has been developed to estimate nutrient loading within a watershed and to predict changes based on a variety of action scenarios. Research on the model was completed in 2005, focusing on the Nonquon River watershed in our watershed region. This will be a valuable tool into the future for evaluating conditions and potential solutions to nutrient loadings in our streams and rivers.
