'Winter is Here' kicks off the New Year on the Story Walk at Ken Reid Conservation Area

JANUARY 7, 2022 – As snow continues to fall and the New Year begins, visitors to Ken Reid Conservation Area can now read ‘Winter is Here’, the newly featured story available along the Story Walk trail for the entire month of January.

JANUARY 31, 2022 – Beginning now and for the entire month of February, visitors to Ken Reid Conservation Area can read ‘Sneezy the Snowman’, the newly featured story along the Story Walk Trail.
Written by Maureen Wright, ‘Sneezy the Snowman’ is a tale about cold winter weather, a snowman that is sensitive to the temperature, and friendship. Each time Sneezy tries to warm up from the cold, he begins to melt into a puddle, relying on his friends to build him back again.

November 6, 2020 – Following months of challenges and uncertainty as a result of Covid-19, Kawartha Conservation staff have made the difficult, but necessary, decision to cancel Christmas at Ken Reid.

JUNE 7, 2021 – One day down on the farm, Duck got a wild idea. "I bet I could ride a bike," he thought. He waddled over to where the boy parked his bike, climbed on and began to ride. At first he rode slowly and he wobbled a lot, but it was fun!

MARCH 30 - Follow the tracks of ten woodland animals but . . . uh-oh . . . watch out for the skunk!
