Kawartha Conservation staff and Board of Directors Chair pose for a photo with Fenelon Falls Brewing Company staff

October 15, 2020 – The local environment will receive a boost thanks to the generous support and partnership between Fenelon Falls Brewing Co., and Kawartha Conservation.

In May, Fenelon Falls Brewing Co., launched the Kawartha Summer Ale, and unofficial beer of summer, in support of Kawartha Conservation programming, stewardship and integrated watershed management in particular.

The result was a very popular beer with proceeds going towards financial support to help protect the lakes and rivers that make the Kawartha watershed so special.

“We can’t say enough about the support and commitment of Fenelon Falls Brewing Co., in wanting to help protect the environment,” said Kawartha Conservation CAO Mark Majchrowski. “In a year that has been anything but normal, Fenelon Falls Brewing Co., and the staff have gone above and beyond in supporting not only Kawartha Conservation, but a number of organizations.”

The idea for a partnership started nearly a year ago, and was immediately embraced by Fenelon Falls Brewing Co., General Manager Mathew Renda.

“We believe in creating great beers that people will love while supporting the communities and organizations that make this region so special,” said Mr. Renda. “We have been proud to partner with Kawartha Conservation and look forward to seeing the long-term benefits of this great collaboration.”

While already implementing a number of environmental initiatives into their operations, the partnership between Fenelon Falls Brewing Co., and Kawartha Conservation is an extension of the great work already being undertaken by creating revenue that will specifically target programs and projects that support healthy lakes and rivers.

“Fenelon Falls Brewing Co., has demonstrated time and again their commitment to the communities they serve and to the residents, businesses, organizations that call Kawartha Lakes home,” said John Chambers, Marketing and Communications Specialist at Kawartha Conservation. “The Kawartha Summer Ale was launched as a partnership with Kawartha Conservation to help support environmental initiatives across the watershed. It has become a success story of what is possible when like-minded organizations come together for a common good.”
