Kawartha Conservation services affected by provincial stay-at-home order
APRIL 8, 2021 – With the Province’s declared state of emergency and province-wide stay-at-home order coming into effect at 12:01 a.m. today for four weeks, ending on May 6, 2021, Kawartha Conservation wants to ensure that watershed residents have access to services and conservation areas in a safe and efficient manner.
As part of the Province’s announcement, everyone is required to remain at home except for essential purposes, such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services (including getting vaccinated), for outdoor exercise or for work that cannot be done remotely.

Conservation Areas, Trails and Off-leash Dog Park
To ensure residents have access to outdoor spaces for their physical and mental health, all of our conservation areas will remain open for passive use. We ask that all visitors ensure they are practicing social distancing and do not gather with groups outside of your immediate household.
The off-leash dog park will also remain open.
The playground at Ken Reid Conservation Area is open but may not be maintained so please use at your own risk.
Two washrooms at Ken Reid Conservation Area will remain open (one near the main parking lot and an accessible washroom near the former beach parking lot), with twice-daily cleaning.
Planning and Permitting
Kawartha Conservation staff are continuing to accept and process permitting and planning applications. All applications can be submitted electronically.
Payment will not be required to start the application process. However, payment in full will be required before a permit is issued.
Questions regarding planning and permitting can be emailed to permits@kawarthaconservation.com or learn more on our website at: https://www.kawarthaconservation.com/planning/permitting/.
