JULY 29, 2022 – Fenelon Falls Brewing Co. is not only home to some award winning brews, a great restaurant and unmatched views of scenic Lock 34 of the Trent Severn Waterway, but it also continues to create a last legacy of environmental excellence through the sale of the Kawartha Summer Ale – an annual summer partnership with Kawartha Conservation.

The Kawartha Summer Ale, the unofficial beer of summer in the Kawarthas, is a popular limited edition beer sold on site at the Fenelon Falls Brewing Co., with a portion of proceeds going to support environmental initiatives that support the health and sustainability of waterways and natural areas across the Kawartha watershed.

“The Kawartha Summer Ale is always popular with our visitors to the brewery,” suggested Head Brewer Russell Gibson. “We have sold out each of the last two summers and we’re well on our way to selling out again this year.”

“This partnership has been a great experience and provided both Fenelon Falls Brewing Co., and Kawartha Conservation to connect with a number of new audiences that share similar interests and passions,” explained Kawartha Conservation CAO Mark Majchrowski. “Kawartha Lakes and the entire Kawartha watershed has such a diversity of lakes, rivers and streams and working to support and protect those is invaluable from an environmental standpoint, an economic standpoint and a tourism standpoint.

“Protecting these assets is so important for the long-term health of the entire region and this partnership has helped to support valuable projects, but also helped to connect us with new audiences and raise awareness about the important work Kawartha Conservation does,” added Majchrowski.

The Kawartha Summer Ale is available in the bottle shop and restaurant, as well as for orders online, but when it’s gone, it’s gone.

“An American-style pale ale, with a simple, light bitter mouthfeel, the Kawartha Summer ale has flavours reminiscent of pineapple, apples and mangoes and is perfect for hot summer days,” said Gibson.

The bottle shop is open seven days a week and the restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday.
