MAY 10, 2022 – Seven Forty Six is throwing its support behind local environmental efforts with a new year-long partnership with Kawartha Conservation.

Seven Forty Six will donate 5 percent of all proceeds from the sale of their Kawartha Series and Lake Series clothing to the watershed-based, non-profit organization established in 1979.

“Kawartha Conservation has been working to support, protect and enhance our lakes and environment for more than 40 years,” said Seven Forty Six owner Donna Galloway. “We have long recognized the importance our lakes play from a tourism perspective and from a quality of life perspective. It is important to us to give back to an area that has given us so much to us and we felt directly supporting the environmental future of our communities was a perfect partnership.”

Since their inception, Seven Forty Six has continued to grow and expand to build upon their mission, ‘Made to Make Memories.

“We want to create a destination location that resonates with the lifestyle in the Kawarthas. With everything from a  gift store, ice cream to a food truck and more, Seven Forty Six provides a place for our community to come together and make lifelong memories,” said Ms. Galloway.

Equally important as their mission, Ms. Galloway said their business supports a cause near and dear to their hearts, ‘to give back to the land that gives us our lifestyle’.

“Not only do we want to create an awesome summer destination location with year-round lifestyle apparel, but to give back to the very environment that gives us the ability to live the lifestyle we do in the Kawarthas,” she said. “We've teamed up with Kawartha Conservation to donate 5 percent of every sale from our Kawarthas line to protect and sustain the Kawartha watershed and conservation areas that residents and visitors enjoy and embrace.”

Kawartha Conservation Board of Directors Chair, Kawartha Lakes Mayor Andy Letham, applauded the partnership noting the initiative is one that supports both local business and the environment.

“These types of partnerships are a win-win for our entire community,” said Mr. Letham. “We recognize the importance of small business and how they support, not only local and seasonal residents, but the traveling public as well. At the same time, we recognize that our lakes, our rivers, the lifestyle, and amenities that our environment provides is critical to our success.

“Seeing this partnership with Seven Forty Six, a popular destination that serves as a western gateway to Kawartha Lakes, is another great example of business supporting the environment and vice versa,” Mr. Letham continued. “I look forward to seeing our residents and visitors wearing their Kawartha apparel with pride, knowing they are helping to support not only a wonderful local business but our environment and natural areas as well.”

Kawartha apparel is available at in-person at Seven Forty Six located at 311 Highway 7, just west of Oakwood, or online at www.Shop746.com.
