Temporary Closures and Flooded Trail Conditions in Effect at Ken Reid Conservation Area

LINDSAY, ONTARIO – Kawartha Conservation is advising visitors that portions of Ken Reid Conservation Area are temporarily closed due to saturated ground conditions, localized flooding, and continued wet weather.

Effective immediately:

  • The Large Dog Off-Leash Dog Park is temporarily closed
  • The Pond Loop Trail is temporarily closed
  • All remaining trails are currently flooded or partially flooded

Ken Reid Conservation Area will remain open to the public; however, visitors are advised to exercise caution when visiting the property and should be prepared for wet, muddy, and flooded trail conditions throughout the site.

These temporary closures have been implemented to help protect the safety of visitors and pets, while also preventing damage to trails, park infrastructure, and natural areas during this period of exceptionally saturated conditions.

Kawartha Conservation staff will continue to monitor conditions throughout the week. Closed areas and impacted trails will reopen as conditions improve and it is safe to do so.

Visitors are encouraged to check Kawartha Conservation’s website and social media channels for updates before visiting.
