Kawartha Conservation is inviting landowners and community groups across the City of Kawartha Lakes and Durham Region to apply for funding through the 2026 Water Fund until April 30, 2026.Â
Kawartha Conservation is leading a collaborative project to restore fish spawning habitat on Lake Scugog in partnership with the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, Scugog Lake Stewards, and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters Foundation. The project will strengthen the lake’s ecosystem and help set the stage for future restoration work across the watershed.
The Illuminated Forest lights up Ken Reid Conservation Area from December 12 to 28 with thousands of soft white lights along the trails at the front of the park. Free public transit from Lindsay is available on four special nights to make it easy for everyone to take part.
