Kawartha Conservation is issuing a Watershed Conditions Statement – Water Safety, effective Wednesday, March 19, 2025, through to 12 noon on Friday, March 21, 2025.
Following the recent weather conditions and rainfall over the past weekend, water levels in local streams and rivers remain elevated. Above-seasonal temperatures are forecasted to persist in the coming days before dropping over the weekend. Additionally, a small rainfall event is expected to begin tonight and continue through tomorrow evening.
MARCH 11, 2025 – With warmer weather arriving just in time for March Break, Kawartha Conservation is reminding residents, parents, and children to be cautious around local streams, rivers, ponds, and lakes during the spring thaw. As temperatures rise into the double digits, ice and snow are melting rapidly, increasing risks around waterways.
