Urban low impact development part of downtown Lindsay reconstruction

May 26, 2020 – When the Downtown Lindsay Reconstruction Project is completed in 2022, there will be new infrastructure, that for the first time, will have been used in a municipal project in Kawartha Lakes; low impact development infrastructure that will support a healthy environment.
Thanks to the financial support of RBC, Kawartha Conservation has facilitated a Silva Cell project that will support a healthy tree canopy component to Kent Street project.

Currently watershed conditions are normal for the Kawartha Conservation watershed.
Rivers and streams across the Kawartha Conservation watershed are currently flowing at lower-than-normal water levels and water levels in the large Kawartha Lakes are at average levels for this time of year throughout the Trent Severn Waterway.

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the area that includes the Kawartha Conservation jurisdiction. It states that locally heavy downpours with showers are possible today. Rainfall amounts are predicted to be around 30 to 40 mm for the region.
