JANUARY 12, 2022 – Due to an overwhelming response, the first Forest Therapy session scheduled for Bell Let’s Talk Day on January 26, 2022 has reached capacity, but Kawartha Conservation will be hosting a second session the same day, January 26, 2022 from 2pm to 3:30pm at Ken Reid Conservation Area.

JANUARY 7, 2022 – As snow continues to fall and the New Year begins, visitors to Ken Reid Conservation Area can now read ‘Winter is Here’, the newly featured story available along the Story Walk trail for the entire month of January.
‘Winter is Here’, written by Kevin Henkes, gives readers the opportunity to learn about all the different ways that people experience winter, how the landscape changes, the colours of the season, and how the world slowly transforms back into Spring.

JANUARY 3, 2022 – Kawartha Conservation will be hosting a forest therapy session on Wednesday, January 26th, from 12:00 noon to 1:30pm at Ken Reid Conservation Area in recognition of and participation in Bell Let’s Talk Day.
Forest Therapy is a meditative experience that includes slow, mindful movement throughout the forest and thoughtful discussion and reflection on personal feelings and experiences.

DECEMBER 21, 2021 – Kawartha Conservation’s 2022 Seedling Sale is now open, offering a great selection of evergreen and deciduous trees, as well as shrubs and several advancing species that are not currently found in the Kawartha Watershed, but are migrating from the south as the climate warms and the Kawarthas become a more suitable habitat for new species.
